Request a Ride-Along


Welcome to Fire District 3’s Civilian Ride-Along program.


Individuals interested in a ride-along are required to meet one of the following criteria:
  1. Mandatory continuing education for public service providers
  2. Educational development of emergency services students.
  3. Members of the community seeking career development exposure.
  4. Others approved by the Administration or Operations Divisions.

If you feel you meet one of the criteria listed above, please fill out the form below.

  • Minimum age is 16 years old. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the appropriate paperwork in the ride-along packet. 
  • If your ride-along request is accepted, you will need to complete a Ride-Along Packet as well.
  • Please allow two weeks to process your request. We will do our best to accommodate scheduling requests but all requests are subject to our availability.

Ride-Alongs are not guaranteed for a minimum or maximum amount of time. The length of time of the ride-along will be determined by the supervisor of the crew.

Dates/Times
Please choose dates that are last two weeks beyond today's date and provide at least two date/time options.
All riders must be dressed appropriately. The following is a list of acceptable dress for riding with the District. - A button down shirt or polo shirt with collar. - Black or dark blue slacks or jeans. - Leather shoes or boots, preferably black in color. Ankle high leather is preferred. - Dangling ear rings, facial rings, excessive jewelry, and other items should not be worn while riding as they pose a safety hazard. Note: Inappropriately dressed observers will not be allowed to ride and will be sent home. T-shirts, sweaters, and baggy clothing are unsafe and not acceptable. Skirts, short, sweats, leggings or torn pants are not acceptable.Tennis shoes, loafers, sandals, etc. are not acceptable.
