Response

The mission of the Response Department is to protect life and property through emergency response services. The Response Department strives to achieve this mission through the efficient and effective delivery of four (4) core emergency response services:

  1. Control and suppression of hostile fires
  2. Pre-hospital emergency medical services (Basic and Advance Life Support)
  3. Technical rescue (High/Low Angle Rope, Swift Water, Extrication)
  4. Mitigation of hazardous material incidents

A primary goal of the Response Department is to maintain a high level of response and performance reliability. District policies, procedures, training, and daily activities are all targeted towards achieving this goal.

The District operates eight (8) fire stations. Four (4) stations are staffed 24/7 with career firefighters and four (4) stations rely upon volunteer and/or resident firefighters for response.
