The Division Chief of Training and Safety coordinates training and educational needs for all District members. This includes fire, emergency medical, apparatus operations, hazardous materials, special rescue teams, supervision and leadership.
New paid firefighters attend an intensive eight-week academy that helps prepare the individual to be an active part of the Fire District team providing a high level of quality service to the community. The academies are held at the White City Training Facility.
New volunteer members attend a four week NFPA Firefighter I Academy hosted by the District. After completion of the academy the new member is assigned to a paid crew to continue their training and completion of the one-year probation.
