Profile
- The District
was formed in 1952 as Central Point Rural Fire Protection District. It changed
its name to Jackson County Fire District No. 3 in 1975,
- It currently
protects 167 square miles in the center of Jackson County, Oregon with seven
(7) stations.
- The Eagle Point,
Central Point, and White City Stations are staffed with full time paid personnel.
The Sam's Valley, Dodge Bridge, Agate Lake, and Gold Hill stations rely on
volunteer firefighters.
- A five (5) member
elected Board of Directors governs the District.
- The District
is staffed with 59 paid personnel and approximately 60 volunteers.
- The main Administrative
office is located at 8383 Agate Road in White City. The phone number is (541)

- The District
is organized into three main Divisions; Administration/Finance, Operations,
and Fire and Life Safety.
- The 2009/10
operating budget is approximately $15.2 million. The assessed value of the
District is $3.5 Billion.
- In 2008, Administrative
personnel moved into the new administration building at 8383 Agate Road, White
City.
- Key services
include fire suppression, basic and advance life support medical response,
rescue services, public education, code enforcement, and investigation.
- Annual alarm
volume is around 5000 incidents per year. 60% to 70% of all calls are medical
and/or rescue related.
