Fire season has come to an end. All regulations on equipment use and use of fire for debris burning have been terminated. Listed below are the steps to start safe burning.
1. Obtain a Burn Permit from Jackson County Fire District 3 if you live in the District. This should be listed on your tax statement to find out if you do live within the District. The burn permit is the orange piece of paper that has been mailed out to you years prior. Any of the burn permits will work regardless of the date on them.

2. If you live inside the Air Quality Maintenance Area you must call the Burn Line Phone Number (541) 776-7007. You will hear a recording stating if it is ok to burn inside the Air Quality Maintenance Area. If you live out side the Air Quality Maintenance Area you are allowed to burn.
3. If you have to have your vehicle inspected by DEQ when registering your vehicle with the DMV means you are inside the Air Quality Maintenance Area. If you don’t have to have your vehicle checked at DEQ then you are outside the Air Quality Maintenance Area.
4. If you have any questions please call (541) 826-7100.
